FCA to recall Jeep, Ram, Dodge vehicles in U.S.

DETROIT -- Fiat Chrysler Automobiles is recalling 182,743 Jeep Wranglers in the U.S. to fix potentially faulty wiring that may disconnect from the SUVs’ impact sensors in a crash.
The recall covers certain 2016-17 Jeep Wranglers built between June 16, 2015, and August 14, 2016. FCA noted that the 2017 Wranglers are all in company hands. “This campaign was prompted by a routine, in-house crash test,” FCA said in a statement today. “FCA US is unaware of any related injuries, accidents, warranty claims or customer complaints.” According to documents posted on the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s recall database, under certain crash conditions, rotation of the headlamp can cause the sensor wiring to pull and detach. more ...
